Welcome to English Phonetics by Juan Soto

Juan Soto-Franco: I'm an English teacher and a member of TESOL. I began teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) back home (the Dominican Republic). I taught for several years at different private language institutions as well as for the only public university there (Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo). In 2004, I came to the United States to get a masters degree in Applied Linguistics at Ohio University and graduated in 2006. Immediately after that, I began my PhD program in Instructional Technology and have been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and English Composition at different American universities for several years now.
